“Often, we tend to focus on the jobs we shouldn’t be doing because they are easier to do than the jobs we should be doing because they are the hard ones. And, for me, being outdoors in a manual role is pretty easy. Addressing those tricky and more high-level activities are more challenging, so I tend to avoid those.

I recognised very early that the smartest farmers in our industry are adapting and adopting new methods and one of my skills is watching them and copying their lead. And, I have noticed over several years that the farmers I value were using Ram’s skillset. I was aware of it and it was an opportunity to explore. So, I got in touch with Ram.

Ram assessed the time I was spending on various activities in my role and made me realise it was less efficient than it could be. He was very quick to point out some bad habits and lots of small areas of improvement with high impact. With his help I am much more aware how I am conducting myself and what that means.
